Located on the exterior of a building off 3rd Avenue in Dallas, is a touching mural dedicated to the fallen Dallas police officers by American artist Scott LaBaido. Just East of the very place in downtown Dallas where the five officers lost their lives on July 7th is the mural that was revealed on Sunday.

According to WFAA, LaBaido flew from New York following the tragedy to create his masterpiece because he knew he had to do something. He felt so compelled from the tragedy that before he actually flew to Dallas to complete the mural, he painted one in his hometown of Staten Island, New York.
The Making of the Dallas Mural
The mural painting is comprised of the American flag, but not with its’s usual tone. Instead, the artist incorporated colors that represent the police force: black, white and blue.
When you look closely at white stripes within the flag, you will see that the stripes are not painted of solid white. They have a distinct yet muted design that symbolizes the fabric of the law enforcement community. And, above each white stripe is a plaque engraved with each of the five officers names.
While observing the mural, you will also notice five blue chairs atop the building. These empty chairs are mounted and represent that the five fallen police officers and their ability to now watch over our beloved city.
Officer Gregory Ceraso stated the new mural is,
“Something for us to come to every day. It speaks volumes for a person to do something like this.”
